
USA-185. This boat was originally built as all GRP. Failure of the structure
under the forstay fitting required
repair. David Gilliland chose to remove the GRP deck, build a new stronger
internal structure and
install a plywood deck. David also cut hatches on each side of the centreboard
pin and put a much
stronger structure to brace the hull against the stresses imposed by the
centreboard. Presented
here are pictures taken to document the reconstruction process.
